New addition to the OAP

Elli-wanThe Officials Admin Panel (OAP), the body set up to go through the applications made for independent and league-affiliated officials membership, has welcomed a new person to the team, following Ma Might’s re-appointment as the Head of Officials committee.

The Head of the OffComm automatically takes a position on the OAP, so her previous position as one of the NSO members became free. The panel looked at the candidates who had previously applied and agreed that Elli-Wan Kenobi of Leeds Roller Dolls was the best person for the job.

Elli-Wan, who has years of experience as both a skater and an official, said: “Since I first put on skates and became involved in roller derby and the amazing community, I have seen the sport and people grow in a variety of ways.

“I’m really excited about the future of the sport here in the UK, and especially for officials. UKRDA membership for officials is a huge step forward towards that future.

“It’s a pleasure to be part of the OAP so I can utilise my skills and experience to positively contribute to the continued development of officiating and officials, and the sport as a whole.”

The OAP is currently going through the process of sifting through applications from officials.
